COVID is screwing my paycheck and I don’t live in a place where rent relief or moratoriums have been passed to protect people being affected financially by the pandemic.

I am a respite caregiver for children with autism. Naturally, the family I work with has increased risk factors during this pandemic. They also have an elderly relative from out of the country visiting who definitely can’t be exposed without serious consequences. As such, we cancelled both sessions this weekend, meaning I only have two of the four sessions I would get for this paycheck—shorting me $118. I barely get by as it is. I can’t afford to just lose income rn. My second job likely won’t start until Tuesday next week and I don’t expect I’ll be paid in time for rent, which is $625. There’s a big chance I don’t have any more shifts with the kids at all until this gets a little less scary.

I cannot get sick but I also work 2 jobs that have no benefits and no ability to work from home or have paid time off during this crisis. The job I’m starting next week will be public-facing as well. I’m already struggling to keep sane rn because I’m not on meds that I need to function normally, and my stress levels are off the charts which is not good because I have a history of high blood pressure and have used blood pressure medications in the last 6mos which might make me more sensitive to the virus.

My boyfriend might be at higher risk for COVID as well because of childhood asthma (that we don’t know if it’s actually gone or if it will come back bc he’s just now at the age where it would recur), and at least one of our housemates also has underlying conditions that would make this incredibly devastating if it got in this house. We can’t self isolate because we don’t have anywhere to go. None of us have easy access to healthcare right now.

We also eat off of EBT that’s most likely not going to continue in April because of the pandemic. This happens every time California has any kind of emergency.

• an echocardiogram to finally see if i’ll need heart surgery

hey, so that’s the situation. we owe a grand total of $367 to our power and internet companies. each of my doctor’s appointments has a $50 co-pay. i’m literally booked 1-2 times weekly on doctor’s appointments for the entirety of march. i’m naturally despondent, and hopeless, and listless, and near-victorian in my fucking despair here. i don’t know what to do except for write another post.

i’m working but it’s basically only paying enough to keep us all fed and put gas in the tank. i have no idea how to crawl out of debt while also being put through the ringer to find out if i’ll need a major surgery that’ll just sink us further into debt.

okay, so i’m broke, and not in the fun, oh i don’t have any money! in the dire, ‘oh shit can i pay for my next semester of college and afford my medical bills?’ sort of broke. which really isn’t good. while i’ve finally got a job, it doesn’t start until next semester, so i would have to ask my school for an extension, which means they’ll charge me more money, while the fee’s not large, it’s still an extra fee.

that being said, i can knit/crochet nearly anything, and i’m willing to knit said things. somethings, like sweaters, will take me longer, while a scarf will take me about a week to knit.

Hey y’all: once again! I am barely being scheduled!

Good news is I get a bonus check this month. Bad news is it won’t help that much when I’m only being scheduled 2-3 days a week. They’re over staffed and since I’m part time I’m not a priority in terms of hours. Finding another job feels like a never-ending stream of “no’s.”

I have a commission post going around for genealogical research I do (which multiple people can attest is good and thorough work) for $20 an hour but I haven’t gotten many bites and this would help me a lot!

My illness is straight up fatal. Not gonna beat around thatBush, anymore. I seem desperate for help because I AM desperate for help.

My nephrologist has seen enough improvement in my kidney function, lately, to believe someone my age (early 30s) might have a longer life WITH PROPER AND FREQUENT MEDICAL ATTENTION. Sadly, that just isn’t an option where I live.

Please, if you can help me with moving expenses (even just a couple of bucks) I would be grateful. I’m sinking fast in Mississippi and now my doctors are giving me too much hope to ignore. I wanna get out of this situation and I’m working my fatigued, brain-foggy ass off to make it out of here.

If I can undo the damage my heart failure caused to the rest of my body, I want to. I don’t want to spend another month KNOWING what I should be eating, what medicines I should be taking, what tests and treatments I should be getting… and receiving almost none of it because Mississippi lawmakers think people like me have somehow earned slow, painful deaths.

IM ON A TRANSPLANT LIST, FINALLY!

My heart function has risen! My blood pressure is under control! You guys have helped me so much!

However, I need help, again. In order to get new kidneys in a couple of years, I’ve got to be in the best health just to have the surgery. I’ve got doctors visits and medications that I’m still struggling to afford. Multiple visits a week in many cases.

I have a partner and irl pals helping me with lodging and food. I’m working as much as my medical needs allow. I simply can’t generate enough cash to take care of everything. There are appointments I haven’t scheduled yet simply because I need the co-pay money.

If you’re able to help with a few bucks, I promise you that living in the US means I will always need help. Co-pays and bills. Even with insurance, I’ve had certain necessary things not covered. (Yes, I appeal every time.)

I have a treatable illness but very little money to survive this.
